Le Couvent des Minimes, a former 17th-century convent transformed into a 5-star hotel, today embodies the vision of wellbeing held by L’OCCITANE en Provence: a holistic approach that embraces self-care, connection with others, and harmony with nature.
Carbon footprint
From the architectural design of the new buildings to the adoption of geothermal energy for the entire estate, our ambition is to explicitly reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, thus taking a significant step towards a minimal carbon footprint.
Paper
To minimise the use of paper, the hotel has digitised most of its key services. Bookings, confirmations, invoices and internal communications are now done electronically - a paperless policy that we aim to extend to brochures, menus and other traditionally printed information.
Water
In terms of water, a selection of water-saving devices has been devised for its better management and preservation. The hotel gardens have also been designed with this in mind, with the planting of local flora selected for their low water requirements and resilience to regional climatic conditions.
Aquama
These measures are in addition to a wider commitment, across the whole property, which includes the use of Aquama, an innovative electrified salt water cleaning solution.
Dining Facilities
When it comes to our dining facilities, the emphasis is on sourcing fresh, local and organic produce. Partnerships with neighbouring farmers and suppliers not only benefit the regional economy, but also reduce CO2 emissions linked to the transport of goods.
Consumables
In the bathrooms, dispensers and solid products avoid the use of plastic and have been created and sourced to avoid waste.
Electric vehicles
Finally, in our car park, 12 electric charging points are available for guests to recharge their vehicle batteries, as and when required.
